Migration is the social engine of history. The mass migration from Syria and Iraq to Europe in recent months has challenged the core democratic values of empathy and tolerance. In this practical workshop we will use Shaun Tan’s masterwork, The Arrival, and contemporary accounts and images of migration to explore the values of citizenship.
